Dear Emil:

You have several issues in your case. It does appear that there may be relief for you, but you will need to speak with an immigration law attorney for complete advice.

The attorney will be able to review all your documents, and ask you the necessary questions, to determine the best way to help you. Good luck.

What is Relief ? Thank you

By ImmigrationHelp on Monday, January 29, 2001 - 12:33 pm:

Dear Emil:

Relief means the right to some benefit, such as permanent residency. However, to determine whether you in fact qualify, you should speak with an immigration law attorney. Good luck.

Dear Sir/ Madam:

I am an US citizen and I recently went to India and got married. I intend to bring my wife over. I understand that I have to file a I-130 first with INS and when I the application is approved, my wife in India will be informed via letter and then she has to file the I-129F. Please advice me if I am in the right track. And also how long will the entire process take for me to get my wife here into the US? Kindly advice me if I am wrong or if there is a another way. Thank you for your assistant.

My daughter is 16. She has a 5 month old baby and is pregnant again by the man she wants to marry. He is an illegal immigrant who is in jail for the statetory rape of my daughter. He is a good man and we want to get them married and get him out of jail and to make him legal here. I am willing to sign her marriage license. I would be honored to call him my son. I don't know where else to turn. Please HELP!!! I am running out of time.

Hello, I am writing on behalf of a friend who is currently here on a K3 visa. He has been here for a little over a year and since his arrival in 2003 his marriage with his wife has gone down hill. She has kicked him out of her house multiple times and is threatening to have him deported. He is very un-happy in his situation and would like a divorce. What process would he have to go through in order to get a divorce but be able to remain in the United States? Is it possible for him to get another petitioner while here and terminate any immigration proceedings with her? Also what does the petitioner expiration date on his Visa mean? That date expires before his visa. Please Advise. Thank You!

TO WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN:

PLEASE HELP ME. I AM USC MARRIED TO A BRAZILIAN LIVING IN BRAZIL. WE FILED FOR MY HUSBAND TO GET A CR-1 VISA TO GO BACK TO THE USA.
THE PROBLEM IS MY HUSBAND HAS BEEN IN THE USA IN THE PAST AND HE OVER STAYED HIS VISIT(HE STAYED 1 YEAR AND 8 MONTHS). AFTER BEING A WHILE IN BRAZIL HE GOT A VISA TO GO BACK TO THE USA. WHEN HE GOT TO THE AIRPORT THE OFFICER TOLD HIM THAT THE VISA HE HAD WAS NOT ISSUED AT THE RIO CONSULATE AND THEREFORE WAS NOT ALLOWED TO ENTER THE USA.
WE DID ALL THE PAPERWORK AND HAD OUR INTERVIEW. THE CONSULAR OFFICER STATED THAT WE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO FILE FOR A WAIVER AND THAT I AM GOING TO HAVE TO WIRTE A HARDSHIP LETTER( AND BEG THE US GOVT TO ALLOW MY HUSBAND INTO THE USA)AND SHOW REASON AND PROOF AS TO WHY THE US GOVT SHOULD LET HIM INTO THE US GOVT. THE CHARGES ARE MISREPRESENTATION AND OVERSTAY. IS WHAT SHE SAID TRUE. WHY DO WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS WAIVER PROCESS IF HE IS MARRIED TO AN AMERICAN AND WE GOT MARRIED LEGALLY. HE SHOULD BE ABLE TO GO BACK WITH ME WITHOUT HAVING TO GO THROUGH THIS WAIVER PROCESSS! AMERICA IS THE LAND OF OPPORTUNITY THEN THE USA SHOULD GIVE HIM A CHANCE TO SHOW THEM THAT HE IS A DESCENT AND RESPECTFUL MAN , HE WOULD NEVER HURT ANYONE.
PLEASE HELP WE ARE DESPERATE WE DONT WANT TO STAY HERE!!!!! I MISS MY FAMILY!

Hello,

I just got my visa (Live In Caregiver)last June and I will be going to Canada this September. My boyfriend who is still here in the Philippines wants to follow me there the soonest time possible and he is willing to apply for any type of visa. What are his options and his chances of being approved? Is it advisable that we get married here in the Philippines before I go to Canada? Please help us decide. We want to be together and start our family.

Thank you so much.

HELLO,MY QUESTION IS THIS. IF A PERSON COMES FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY ON A TEMPORARY(V-3) VISA TO AMERICA, AND HAS OVERSTAYED BY A FEW YEARS. AND HE IS WORKING BUT BEING PAID UNDER THE TABLE. WHAT IF THIS PERSON WANTS TO MARRY ANOTHER PERSON WHO ALSO HAS COME FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY ON A VISITORS VISA AND IS BEING SPONSORED BY A U.S.A. CITIZEN. IF THEY GET MARRIED CAN THEY LEGALLY STAY AND GET A DRIVERS LICENSE,SOCIAL SECURITY CARD,ETC. WHAT IF THEY HAVE A CHILD HERE, THEN WHAT? PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION BECAUSE I AM WORRIED SICK ABOUT THIS.
