When the last three years of Income Tax Returns and w-2's are requested for the I-864. Since it is 2001 now which last three years are to be submitted, "2000, 1999, 1998" or "1999, 1998, 1997". Do I submit 99,98,97 and 2000 if I have it already?

Dear Gabriel:

The last three years are 2000, 1999, and 1998. However, if you have not yet filed your return for 2000, you would submit the 1997 return instead. Good luck.

When do the new 2001 poverty guide lines go into effect for the Affidavit of support.

Dear Gabriel:

The new 2001 poverty guidelines are currently in effect. You can get a copy by going to our Immigration News page and scrolling down to Affidavits of Support and clicking on the 2001 Poverty Guidelines. Good luck.

Dear Immigration Help,

After 15 years of waiting, my sister and her husband have been approve for an interview with the US Counsel in their country and I have filed the proper Form I-864 for the affidavit of support. They are both around 70 yrs old and in good health. I am 58 years old and have not been working for the past two years. Because of this, I have asked my daughter to be a co-sponsor by also filing the I-864. She makes well over the 125% necessary to meet the income requirements specified by the USCIS. I have also submitted my daughter's tax form and the "Authorization for Release of Federal Tax Data." All documents have been notarized. My sister and her husband have made a total of 3 trips to the US Counsel and each time they have given them the same form in return: Optional Form 194 (Rev .4-91) and each time they have checked that the reason for denial is under Section (a)(4). We have all been very frustrated with this and have no idea what these people want. I had my daughter type a letter swearing that she would take financial responsibility and had that notarized. My daughter asked her employer to write a letter/statement stating her income and her responsibility as an individual. I believe I have supplied them with everything that is required and more of what I think they may want. Please help me since I have exhausted all ideas. Thank you!!!
