I am a US citizen completing an affidavit of support. Although all my tax filings are current I have some back taxes owed due to an adjustment of a 10-99 for my business. I am not in default on my arrangements. Will my "relationship" with the IRS have any effect on the approval of my affidavit? What tax situations might cause additional scrutiny?

Dear Anonymous:

We do not believe that the scenario you describe will cause any problems. You have filed your returns, you have made a payment arrangement, and you are not delinquent in your payments. Good luck.

Hello,
my husbands tax retun for a household size of 4 (including me) is enough for me to get my visa. But the income shown includes tip incomes with the hourly wage he makes, the hourly wage alone is not enough. But on the tax returns its more than 125% of what is asked from him to make. So on the actual income part he can only write his hourly wage cuz he cant show the tips he will make this year...since we dont know how much tip he will make..would this cause a problem at the embassy or the income made last year would be good for me to be approved? Thanks...
