I have just received a letter from the NVC regarding Choice of agent and address form. I assigned my husband as my agent and mailed it to NVC as soon as I got their forms. Now, its been 3 weeks and my husband is waiting in the states to receive the packet 3. We have surfed the NVC website and we somehow know what the packet 3 contains. I have already downloaded those forms and I have already filled up the form OF230 and I-169. Can we mail these requirements ahead, instead of waiting for the NVC to send those forms to us? Can we just state my case number in that form so that we can facilitate for a speedy action on my petition? We would also include the Affidavit of Support.

Dear Anonymous:

Yes, you can send all of the information and forms to the consul. However, the only problem is if the NVC never sent the approved petition to the consul. In that case, the consul would not have a file on you.

You may wish to call the consul to see if they have received the petition from the NVC before proceeding. Good luck.

I think there is a new regulation now that makes the NVC preview all documents before they would forward it to the consul at the foreign embassy. INS has forwarded the approved petition at NVC and NVC will check all requirements before they make the second step. So, in this case, I could send the Agent form plus all supporting documents included for packet 3 at the same time? Do you also know which bank is accredited by NVC to handle the I-864 review fee and processing fee for the petition? Pls let let me know about the details on payment. Thanks!

Dear Anonymous:

We are not quite sure what your question is concerning the bank that handles the I-864 fee.

The letter you receive from the NVC states how the $50 processing fee is to be paid, and to whom.

If you will let us know exactly which statement in the letter from the NVC that you don't understand, we will try to help. Good luck.
