Hi, I am currently in Bermuda w/ my husband. I am American. I have lots of questions about my I-864 and Affadavit of Support. The lady that is in charge under the Consulor is not very helpful. She has asked us to retain criminal reports from the states that my husband has resided. That took alot of time and not to say money and then when we finally get it. She's now telling us that we cannot submit our papers until she receive the ones she requested. I don't understand why she asked us to do it if she was going to request them. Is this usual? WE have been ready for a month now, but she insist that we have to wait. Could you please help. This is very frustrating. She will not answer our questions because she said that she is not allowed to but constantly give us papers to read. I really feel as if this is not right. We are receiving no help from the US Consulate office in Bermuda. She is not even American and has told me once that "I'm American and she's not and I should know better than her" Could you pls help.
