I had sent my N-400 form, along with the $250 fee at Vermont Service Center, on June 15, 2001. I still haven't recieved any notice of receipt nor my check has been cashed. Is this normal. How long will it take for them to cash my check and for me to receive the initial notice. If this is bow long it takes for a notice, how much longer would it be for me to acquire citizenship. I live in NJ, and am otherwise eligible to apply for naturalization.

We know that the VSC has a tremendous frontlog and is months behind in issuing fee receipts. Hopefully, you should receive your receipt shortly. If you don't get it within the next 2-4 weeks, we would suggest that you call the VSC.
