I was wondering if there is any way for me to leave the country to see my family, and also if I could get a turist visa in my country to get back here, so I could get a driver's license. I am filling so helpless not been able to work, drive, go to school or visit my family. Please Help Me! Thank you so much.

The first thing you should do is to contact the INS office where your case was filed to see why you have not yet obtained a filing receipt. Hopefully, you also filed for employment authorization. Once you obtain that, you will be able to get a social security number and a driver's license.
Based on the fact that you are unlawfully in the US, you will not be able to obtain a permit to travel outside of the US while your application is pending. If you do leave the US, you may be subject to the 10-year bar, meaning that you could be barred from re-entering the US for up to 10 years. Therefore, our advice is to find out what happened with your application and to stay here until you receive your permanent residence. Good luck.
