I entered the US on a student visa. It is still valid , but will not be for long. I want to obtain permanent residency in the U.S. Could someone please very frankly and simply tell me my my options.
- I have no family in the u.s.
- I have submitted a DV application but I know it is a longshot.

Dear Oraro:

Based on the limited amount of information you have provided, it would be impossible to advise you of your possibilities to obtain permanent residence in the US. In addition, a listing or description of all of the possibilities is far too extensive for purposes of this Bulletin Board.

We would suggest that you speak with an immigration law attorney who can give you any options that might be available based on having all of the facts of your case at his or her disposal.

If you wish, you can purchase our Immigration Law Manual that describes all of the major ways in which a person can qualify for permanent residence. If you are interested, go to our Home page and click on the scrolling banner. Good luck.

hi
I am am international student and would like to gather some information from you
I came to united states 2 yrs back on student visa thats is F1 but after coming to US i have change my school twice because of wrong decision in selecting major.I still hold valid visa but goin to expire soon and the school i was in before i was studying as on condition basis thats why i didn't get my I20 because the university here needed some documents from my bachelor's school which was in india to verify my bachelor's GPA. SO when i recieved my documents i left that school because they didn't hav the classes which i nedded and as u know being an international student u hav to take classes as full time so i studied 1 semester their in this university that was in spring than in the begining of summer i got admission in other school but same field and know when i am joined this school my new international director she advised me to get reinstate as i was on the conditional basis in the last university and holding the I20 for the previous school i attended. SO my question is now when i got addmitted into other school holding valid visa, I94 card and valid I20,if i go to reinstate my self what will be the chances that i got negative response from INS as i have not been out of status anytime of my stay,i hav all the documents showing my full time status in all my previous attended school. so just let me know that if i go to reinstate my self will their i'll be a problem.
SO please do let me know sir as i don't want to b in trouble
