Dear Roberto:

Probably not, however, we would need to have a lot more information about the entire background to give you a complete answer.

We would need to know the month and year you were married, the month and year you received your green card, the month and year you deserted your wife, and the month and year that you obtained your divorce. We would also need to know what actions if any your ex-wife took with INS, and the reason that you "deserted" your wife.

If you wish to provide us with that information, we will try to answer your question more fully. Good luck.

Dear Immigration help, thank you for your effort and kindness.

I got married in May 1980.
I got Green card in July 1980.
We separated by agreement and
I left to another state in February 1982.
We got divorced in April 1982.

We went to paralegal together and filled for divorce.Since i moved to another state paralegal told us that would be enough that only my ex wife appear in the Court.I am not sure why "desertion " was given as a ground for divorce. It supposed to be uncontested divorce.
As far as i know my ex wife did not take any actions with IRS.

Thank you again.Best regards,Roberto.

Dear Roberto:

Based on the information you have provided, and provided that your ex-wife never gave any derogatory information to INS, you should not have any problem with your case. Good luck.

Dear Immigration Help

If a person is in US as a pending asylee and a individual master hearing hasn't take place yet could that person adjust his status to HIB and withdraw from asylum.

It will be very kind of you to help me with this issue.

Thank You
