I am a U.S National ( Citizen ) born in Pakistan. I will soon be going to Pakistan for a family visit. What precautions should I take before I leave for this trip.

Thanks,

Dear Anonymous:

Yours is not an immigration issue, as you will be able to re-enter the US since you are a US citizen. We would suggest, however, that you contact the US State Department as they will be able to provide you with up-to-date information on current travel conditions in Pakistan. You can call them at: 1-888-407-4747. Good luck.

Hello,
I am U.S National of Pakistani origin. I am getting married to a Pakistani Citizen in December of 2003. Being proactive, what should I do at this time to bring her over here right after the wedding ( dec 2003 ).

I understand that this process can be very lengthy. As in my cousins case, who got married in December of 2001. He is still waiting on her wife's visa from U.S Embassy. He had to come back to U.S and the wife is still in Pakistan.

I would like to prevent myself from this type of situation. Please advise.

Thank you

Dear Anonymous:

The only way we can give you an informed answer would be to know a lot more about your current situation, and your future intentions. For that reason, we suggest that you speak personally with an immigration law attorney who can gather the necessary information and give you the best advice based on having all of the facts available. Good luck.
