I would like some information on this situation. My friend has filed for naturalization on his own and already did the fingerprinting, he is now waiting for the interview letter. While looking at a copy of the N-400 that he made I noticed that he put his wife's place of residence as his own, could that cause problems since she's a non-immigrant, and presently out-of status. He has filed I-130 for her a while back and she is now out of status waiting for a immigrant # from I-130 or his citizenship whichever comes first. Please let me know what to advise him of. He is not the most intelligent person but they are good people and I wouldn't like to see a separation because of lack of common sense, plus they have a little girl, imagine the impact on her. Thank you.

We do not see a big problem. He should mention at the time of the interview that he made a mistake on that question, and ask to correct it.
Also, if asked, he should tell the truth about the status of his wife and child, and the fact that he has already filed a petition on behalf of his wife. Good luck.

Thank you for your advice. I will most definitely be telling him about your suggestion. He has since been to an immigration advice person one of those Catholic Charities places to get advice as to what to do. I really didn't mean to scare him just wanted him to be prepared to give the right answers. Thanks again.
