Hi there I am a legal permanent resident who has fulfiled my 5 years residency and I am ready to go ahead and immediately file my N400.
Dear Anonymous:
I noticed that there will be a change of forms for N400 starting Jan 1st, 2002. Based on your valuable experience is it more advantageous for me to file BEFORE December 31st, 2001 with the older forms or after Jan 1st, 2002 with the newer forms ? What are the pros and cons ?

It really makes no difference as the information required is nearly the same on both forms. Just make sure that if you use the old form, it is received by INS before January 1, or it will be returned to you, and you will lose some time. Good luck.
