Hello.I have green card for 21 years.Would like to became citizen.I was few times late(few months ,one year) in filing my tax returns.I was warned by IRS to file.I did.Payed late fine and interest. At this moment i am up to date with taxes.
My questions:1)is this going to cause any problems
on the interview?
2)what kind of documentation i need to prepare for the interview in regard to being late to file?
Thank you for your time,regards.

Dear Dragan:

What are you waiting for? Go ahead and file your application. The fact that you were late in filing your taxes, or that you had to pay interest and penalties will not affect your case. You don't need to present anything special regarding that issue. Good luck.

Dear immigration help!!!

My name is Olga and I am from Russia. I trully need your advice and support. I came to america as a student and now I have a work athorization after I got married .I am married on American citizen for over a year now and we love each other more then anything. My husband did not file taxes for couple of years before he met me. we both worried that INS will deport me away from him, because he has a debt with the government.
We had our interwiew on october 20 th 2003 for my 2 year temporary green card. we showed everything to INS, our pictures and proof that we are husband and wife . INS person said that my husband should file tax returns for 2000,2001,2002. we have 6weeks after january the 12th 2003 and then INS can refuse my temporary green card. could you give us advice? Will I be deported because of my husbands debt? Will it show INS that he is not stable enough to support me?
My husband has a good job as a carpenter and superviser and I am an assistant of manager in a t's shop. we do not have any financial problem in supporting each other. But to pay off all the tax debt will be too much for us. we are willning to do that we just need time.
thank you very much.
I will sincerely apreciate your help!!!!
