Cancellation of Removal (Supporting Documents for Permanent Residents)

The following Documents are typically offered in Support of an Application for Cancellation of Removal for Permanent Residents (Form EOIR 42-A):

1. Marriage certificate, if married
2. Divorce judgment, if divorced or death certificate (For both husband and wife).
3. Birth certificates, U.S. Passports, Naturalization Certificate or Green Card of spouse, children, parents, siblings.
4. Copies of income tax returns (Federal/State) for last seven (7) years.
5. Proof of unemployment or disability payments, if you have received any.
6. Report or letter from probation or parole officer, or from court.
7. Proof of volunteer or community work.
8. Proof of participation in drug, alcohol, or other rehabilitation program.
9. Psychological reports, if available.
10. Letter from your church, pastor, minister, or priest.
11. School records and copies of diplomas, if any.
12. If you pay child support, copy of court order for child support.
13. Proof of child support payments.
14. Proof of welfare payments received by you, your spouse, or your children.
15. Verification of past and present employment.
16. Evidence of service in the U.S. Armed Forces.
17. Arrest records & court disposition for all criminal cases.
18. Police clearance letter from your local Police Department.
19. Any other document you consider to be important to prove your case, or that shows positive factors in your life.
