INS Mailrooms Reopen

The Immigration and Naturalization Service has advised that all of its mailrooms, with the exception of the Vermont Service Center, have reopened for normal business.

The Vermont Service Center mailroom is where a white powder was found on Saturday.  While tests on the powder have proved negative, the mailroom remains closed until the entire area has been tested.  It is expected that the Service Center mailroom should reopen by no later than the 18th; otherwise it will implement contingency measures for mail receipt and processing.  We will keep you advised.
