He is a Florida Bar Certified Immigration and Naturalization lawyer who is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Guidebook to Law and Leading Attorneys in America, Who's Who in Florida, Who's Who in Executives and Professionals, Florida Trend Magazine, Florida Monthly Magazine, Florida Super Lawyers, Florida's Legal Elite, Orlando Monthly Magazine, and is "av" rated in Martindale and Hubbell. He is a past-president of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, South Florida chapter, and a former Adjunct Professor of Law at St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. He has been awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the Public Interest Law Bank of the Dade County Bar Association, the Child Advocate of the Year award for 2009 by the Seminole County Bar Association Legal Aid Society, and has been a frequent author and lecturer on immigration law topics before numerous state, federal, and international organizations. He is currently serving as a Vice Chairman of the Florida Bar Immigration Law Certification Committee. He has appeared as an expert witness in the area of immigration law, in Federal, State, and Administrative Court proceedings. He has also been the lead attorney in several precedent-setting immigration law cases. He has authored and published sixteen (16) immigration law self-help manuals that have been distributed throughout the world.
